After concluding its first-ever Missouri Valley Conference indoor season, the Loyola University Chicago track & field program opened up its 2014 outdoor season at the Bulldog Opener in Indianapolis, Ind., and the Gene and Rose Edmonds Invitational in Rensselaer, Ind., today. The two meets were highlighted by junior Alison Szykowny, who shattered the school record in the shot put (47-02.00) when she broke her personal record by nearly three feet at the Gene and Rose Edmonds Invitational.
